A nice hotel in the centre. Close to shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. A good location if you don't plan to spend too much time at the beach. The beaches were a 45 min - 1 hour walk away which wasn't a problem for us as we enjoyed the walk. Would happily stay here again if I return to Santander.

Breakfast was expensive but we ate at the cafe next door.

The price of the room in summer may be a bit too high. Rooms are really comfy and airco works perferctly.

The lady at reception treat us coldly. Rooms facing the main road may be noisy. Price of breakfast was ridiculously high.

    great amenities

The silken coliseum is fantastic for a short stay. The room was spacious and clean, offering great amenities. The staff were pretty good, especially when I needed minor medical help-they were caring. And a lovely pool to relax by was a good bonus.

    would recommend.

The location couldn't be beaten - only a few paces for shopping, sights, restaurants and seaside walks. The underground car park was a huge bonus. Friendly efficient staff were welcoming and helpful. The clean comfortable room was just what we needed for a good night's sleep and to relax after a long journey and site seeing. Our room was at the back and you could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet. We'll definitely be staying again.

We liked everything we experienced. We are not big breakfasters, so the fixed price breakfast menu was a bit steep for our requirements, but nearby cafes filled that requirement.

Central to all amenities, ferry, train and bus station all within a ten minute walk of each. Staff were very professional, courteous, spoke english well and went out of their way to help. Overall a very pleasant 5 day stay, would definitely return to this hotel and have no hesitation to reccommend The Silken Coliseum for any length of stay in Santander

    minor annoyances

The room felt spacious and had lots of natural light, with great amenities like a comfortable bed and fluffy robes. WiFi was reliable and the air conditioning worked perfectly-ideal for the warm weather. Super nice team. They took care of my luggage after checkout so I could explore the city without any hassle. Breakfast offered a good variety and was reasonably priced, but I noticed some minor cleanliness issues in the common areas that could use attention. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city, perfect for accessing shops and restaurants. It's a shame the hair dryer in the bathroom had a button you had to hold down the whole time, a bit annoying. Minor issues aside, I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Santander.

This very comfortable hotel is in a good location within the city for ferries and the city commercial and shopping centre. It has covered parking albeit at a daily charge. Breakfast is not included but is good value. The hotel is quiet and well managed. There is a restaurant which we did not sample but which is a useful asset it in any Spanish City since otherwise getting food at a convenient time can be problematical.

The hotel advertised itself as being within 500m of a beach. If that is the case then we went to the wrong beach. There is a lovely beach at Santander but we used our bikes to get there. Once you are out of the immediate city centre there is a bike lane along the front. It is too far to walk comfortably to the beach and parking is too restricted to be able to drive with any assurance.
